Life in PNG

J.C Remembers Us

After a year of being gone, our dog J.C. remembered us and greeted us with
excited whines, cries and a wet tongue. The kids were so happy to see him
again.

The Return Trip

Our trip back to PNG took us from Kansas City, to Denver with a stop in San Francisco for refueling; then on to Honolulu, Auckland (New Zealand), Brisbane (Australia), Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) and finally to Ukarumpa.  We all forgot what a VERY LONG and exhausting trip it was as we crossed several different time zones and lost one full day.

Return to Papua New Guinea

On June 29th, 2012, after a year of furlough in the U.S., the day had come to start the journey back to Papua New Guinea.  With mixed emotions we locked windows and doors of our house, shoved one last item into storage, and cast one last look at our home as we pulled out of the driveway to head to Kansas City, en route to Papua New Guinea.  It was one of the hottest days in Iowa, over 100 degree temperatures, and we couldn’t believe the day had finally come; good-byes had been said to family and friends, and last minute coffees and get-togethers and visits to churches had been completed.
