Carrying our pillows, sheets, mosquito nets, and lantern we set out for our wasfamili's village, which was about a 20 minute walk.
It was almost dark by the time we got there. There is no lingering dusk in PNG, which was a big adjustment for us. When it reaches 6:30pm it is suddenly dark because PNG is so close to the equator.

After supper, and the kids went to bed, we visited for awhile. We needed to make a kinship chart (family tree), and got as far back as the forefather of their clan. We asked about "tumbuna" stories, (stories passed on from their grandparents).
