Potluck

Following the service we had a potluck serving traditional PNG food:
kau-kau (sweet potato), pig, and kumu(greens), along with Western food,
baked goods and casseroles. The nationals also brought their first-fruits;
produce from their gardens as offerings.

Thanksgiving in August

On Sunday, August 12th, we walked to a neighboring village to
participate in a thanksgiving service, celebrating the peace in the valley
over the past year, and remembering the 4 nationals who were killed in the
clan fighting one year ago. Tia and I let the boys go over the bridge first
to see how it would hold out and we crossed :)
